Ilhas Dos Fidalgos – The Island of the Noblemen, this is the name the island of Chorao was given by the Portuguese, who captured this as one of their first conquests of their 451- years long rule. It is one of the most prominent areas for migratory birds in the country, and the famous Dr Salim Ali Bird sanctuary is an integral part of this island today!
This trail is a journey that uncovers the best of Chorao island – A boat ride into the mangroves, One of the most unique temples in the country, One of the Most Scenic Spots of the Island and a Trek to the Lost Seminary. The Island of Chorao is an exploration which balances everything in the perfect sense – the beautiful ecosystem, the lost heritage, inspiring stories and the most amazing travelers.
Note: This is not a walking trail. Transport would be required between the different points in the trail. We recommend using the same transport that you come by for the whole trail. Transport is not provided by Soul Travelling.

Does the trail requires transportation?
Yes. Transportation is required as we visit multiple spots during the trail. Transportation will not be provided by Soul Travelling.
Can we get pets on the trail?
Yes (However based on previous experience, we have seen the guest dogs barking and causing a scene with the local dogs. The locality has tons of street dogs which are always moving around in the area. If pets are brought along, guests have to ensure the pet is taken care and accompanied at all times. Few Monuments in Old Goa do not permit entry of pets, so hence the pet will have to be out with 1 guest from the group)
How will the ambassador contact us?
They will send locations and other details regarding the experience one day prior to the trail.
Do we visit the bird sanctuary?
No we do not visit the bird sanctuary, However our boat ride takes place around that area.
What is feni?
This trail includes feni tasting, which is a local Goan alcohol.
