Sunidhi Chauhan

Playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan (pronounced [sʊnɪd̪i tʃʰoːhən]) was born in India on August 14, 1983. Chauhan, who is well-known for her adaptable singing style, can drop notes and sing in lower octaves when necessary. Her vocal range is high octaves. Among the many honors she has won are two Filmfare Awards. Born in Delhi, she started doing small-scale performances at the age of five. At thirteen, she made her feature début in the 1996 film Shastra. She began the year as the winner of Meri Awaz Suno, the first singing reality show, and gained notoriety after recording “Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi” from Mast (1999). Her performance was nominated for Best Female Playback Singer and won her the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
